Avengers: Savage Iron Man
With the release of the Avengers this week, I thought why not build some Savage Worlds versions of the Avengers themselves? I’ll be using the Savage Worlds Explorers edition, and the Super Powers Companion previously reviewed on the site if you wan’t to follow along.

I’ll be going off of the movie versions of these characters, because I’m more familiar with them. I have read multiple comics with each of the avengers, but to keep things simple we’ll stick with the movie versions. There not that different anyway.
Main Stats: Remember these are PRE-superpowers stats. So don’t be weirded out by his low strength and vigor ect.
Agility: d6
Smarts: d10
Spirit: d8
Strength: d4
Vigor: d4
Skills(I’m only writing down trained skills): Again, PRE-superpowers

Fighting: d6
Gambling: d4
Investigation: d4
Notice: d6
Repair: d10
Shooting: d6
Throwing: d4
Persuasion: d6
Knowledge(Tech): d8
Explanation: We all know he’s a gambler, I figure he can fight reasonably without his suit. His main skills are suitably intelligence based.

Derived Stats:
Pace: 6
Parry: 5
Toughness: 4(13 with Armor)
Charisma:2
sf
Hindrances:
Edges: Disability (Minor): Dude needs a thing to run his heart. I’d say that counts. Dependent(Major): This would be he’s dependent on Ms. Pots. I don’t know if thats such a thing in the books, cause every Iron Man/Avengers I’ve read didn’t have her, but there it is.
Super Powers
2 x Power points: That’s +10 points to buy super powers
Noble: Dudes a billionaire playboy, but he still has to run his company. Seems to fit.
Gear:
Iron Man Suit
Private Jet
Drinks!
Lamborghini
Super Powers: All of his powers got a negative to their point cost because he has to be wearing the suit for them to be in effect.
Armor: +9 points of armor(to toughness)
Attack, Ranged: For his rockets, and stuff
Flight: He can fly at 24 squares a turn, and his enemies get a -1 to hit while he’s flying
Super Strength: +4 steps up Strength. So that makes him have a d12 Strength
Super Fighting: +4 steps to Fighting, bringing it to a d12+1
Super Shooting: +3 steps to Shooting, bringing it to a d12.
Super Notice: +1 steps to Notice, bringing it to a d8. I figure his HUD gives him the lay of the land.
The end… I’m keeping all the Avengers at 20 experience to keep them all at the same power level, while giving them some punch. Iron Man turned out perfect, as far as I can tell.
