The Amazing Screw-On Head(2010)
The Amazing Screw-On Head was originally an idea for a toy by Mike Mignola(creator of Hellboy) but since he was a comic creator he decided to make it into a comic. This volume collects that story as well as a few other short stories created by Mike Mognola.

The story of Screw-On Head is so weird and so very unexplained that it can only be like the title says Amazing. The story follows Screw-On Head and his quest to stop Emperor Zombie from destroying the world…or something. So Screw-On Head, his dog, Mister Dog and his butler Mr. Groin go on a rocket to Aswam Vallay, generally considered to be the worst place on earth. At least according the Head. He has a confrantation with zombie in which a demon is released. Emperor Zombie escapes but Head saves the world. It’s a really fun story although you’ll wish there was a bit more there.
There are a number of other short stories in the book some of which that are tangentially related to Screw-On Head. The first Abu Gung and the Beastalk is a retelling of Jack and the Beanstalk while fleshing out the back story of the first story.
The next few are just small story’s that really have nothing to do with anything but are fun to read.
The Prisoner of Mars is a really trippy story about a group of professors sitting around talking about how one of them was killed and their spirit went to mars met up with another professor and did some stuff…you just need to read it.
There’s also a sketchbook in the back. Which brings me to the art. If you have seen Hellboy then you know what the art looks like. Its dark very Ink heavy and very raggedy. So its very stylish and good. The book is a hardback and its production value is really good. There is also a cartoon version that was never picked up by the network. You can watch it here. Its actually better then the original, fleshing it out and providing more character depth, flashbacks and much more,Oh my! I think The Amazing Screw-On Head gets 10 Geek Points.
